Tenuta Monacelle, in the heart of Puglia
Set within 50 acres of farmland, the Tenuta Monacelle is a true country retreat. Fringed with cherry trees, this beautiful hotel and residence offers an authentic Puglian experience with a village of traditional trulli (stone huts with conical roofs), each individually designed in a charming, rustic style. The hotel’s wonderful restaurant uses fresh local produce to serve authentic Apulian cuisine, and guests can join in with tasting local olive oil, go cherry picking or even take cookery classes.
JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa, Venice’s luxury private island
The JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa is situated on its own private island off the coast of Venice. The city’s attractions are a complimentary 20-minute boat ride away, but back on Isola delle Rose you have beautifully furnished villas and four restaurants to choose from, including the Michelin-star Dopolavoro Dining Room. The hotel’s impressive GOCO spa complex is the largest spa in Venice, and features a traditional hammam and hydrotherapy vitality pool with views of the Venice skyline.
The full lake experience at the Sheraton Lake Como
Set in 11,000 square metres of gardens just minutes from the centre of Como, the Sheraton Lake Como is the perfect base for exploring the great lake. The hotel’s beautiful gardens provide ample space for walking, cycling and al fresco dining, with a large open-air swimming pool and hydromassage baths. You’re in easy reach of Lake Como’s activities, including 18-hole golf courses, tennis and water sports on the lake. After long day, relax in the bars and restaurants, including a fantastic Brazilian grill in a poolside gazebo.
Grand Hotel Portovenere, the gateway to the Cinque Terre
The Grand Hotel Portovenere has a stunning seaside location in the pretty town of Portovenere, southern Liguria. Gazing out across the harbour (ask for a sea view room!) this restored 17th century convent is full of character, with elegant decor and all mod cons. The Palmaria Restaurant enjoys a romantic terrace location, serving Mediterranean cuisine with a side of sea views. Ideally placed in Liguria, the hotel is the perfect base for exploring the Cinque Terre.
