Travel Vlog: Puglia, Basilicata & Calabria

Earlier this year, I joined a few of our Italy Experts (Lara, Linda and Miranda) on a week-long trip to southern Italy, driving between three fantastic (and little-known) regions: Puglia, Basilicata and Calabria.

Our trip began in Puglia. We drove through the Apulian plains, climbed to hilltop Ostuni, travelled through the trulli-studded scenery of Alberobello, and motored along the picturesque coast of Torre Canne. Next, we crossed the border into Basilicata to visit Matera, where prehistoric caves cover the soaring hills and valleys. After a day exploring the famous Sassi di Matera (and a night sleeping in a cave hotel!) it was time for the longest leg of the journey; a scenic five-hour drive into stunning Calabria, for a well-earned two days in the picture-perfect seaside town of Tropea.

We captured our trip on camera – have a watch of our vlog to see just how beautiful this part of Italy is…
